There is something majestic about an antique horse-drawn coach convoying the deceased to the cemetery. Rain, snow, or shine, you can choose between a pair of white team or black team horses to drive the hearse. Some families even choose to walk behind the horse-drawn hearse through out the cemetery.
Michigan Memorial Funeral Home offers a service for motorcycle enthusiasts or people looking for a unique way to be sent off on their final journey. The Motorcycle Hearse is a customized, 2012 Harley Davidson Road King with a custom made casket coach. It is a tribute that will be remembered and cherished for years to come. We recommend going for a ride, maybe to a favorite place or to pass by a sentimental spot of the deceased or their loved ones.
Working Grief Therapy Dogs are a much-loved service we offer that can bring a little extra comfort to a mourning family in our care. Our Grief Therapy Dog Captain, is a young Golden Retriever currently in training.
Music sets the mood for any occasion and a funeral is no exception. We offer a variety of live music options to suit every taste, including a bagpiper and a professional harpist. Please let us know of any specific preferences and we will make every effort to accommodate your wishes.
The Ceremonial Butterfly and Bird Release at Michigan Memorial is a loving and inspirational gift for your family. The release of the birds and butterflies symbolize "letting go" which can begin the grieving process while living on in the memories of those that witness the ceremony.
Butterfly releases can only be performed from May to September, however, bird releases can be arranged all year long.

Since 2005, Michigan Memorial Park continues to be one of the only cemeteries in the country to offer Sunday and Holiday Services. For many reasons, a Sunday can often be a desired day to hold a service. It can be a relaxing day for families to gather and celebrate the life of their loved ones. For those previously cremated, a holiday can also serve as a special day for burial. Christmas is the only holiday that we cannot accommodate.
