Gerald William "Jerry" Ahlgrim, age 81, passed away on April 23, 2025, in Monroe. Born on July 26, 1943, in Detroit, Jerry was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Jerry dedicated many years of his life to serving as a Sergeant with the security force at Southland Mall, where he was known for his unwavering commitment and integrity. Outside of work, he found joy and excitement in following NASCAR, a passion that brought him countless hours of entertainment and camaraderie with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna, and his cherished parents, Leroy and Eileen Ahlgrim. Jerry is also predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
Jerry leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his devoted children, Kimberly (Len) Sholtz, Deborah (Larry Larson) Lancaster, and Katherine (Tim) Maynard. His grandchildren, Steven (Jamie), Tanya (Carlos), Samantha (Kyle), Jessica (Steve), Brandon (Marissa), and Alasin, remember him fondly as a doting grandfather who always had time for them. Jerry was also blessed with the joy of 14 great-grandchildren, whose lives have been touched by his kindness and love.
A good husband and father, Jerry's legacy is one of warmth, strength, and dedication to those he held dear. His memory will be cherished and his presence profoundly missed by all who knew him.
