James “Jim” Joseph Acs, born on October 6, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away in South Rockwood, Michigan, on July 28, 2026, at the age of 81.

James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took immense pride in his family and home. He found joy in maintaining his yard and pond, appreciating the simple pleasures of nature and hard work.

He dedicated 44 years of service to DTE, exemplifying commitment and perseverance throughout his career.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Sophia Acs, and his brothers, Ernie and John.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Acs, with whom he shared many cherished years. His legacy continues through his children: David (Jackie), Jeff (Stacy), James, and Julie (Adam). James was the proud grandfather of Stephanie, Jeffrey, Emily, Katelyn, Myranda, Megan, and Alex, and the doting great-grandfather of Buddy and Maycee. He is also survived by his brother Julius, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Condolences

  • Mr. Acs always seemed very calm to me. He reminded me of a stern, but fair person. He and Mrs. Acs treated us very generously letting us hang out at the house on Georgia Ave in Riverview. He had a good sense of humor but you could tell when he was about to get mad if we acted up to much. I always found him very approachable and a no nonsense type of guy. Mr. Acs had house rules and standards and you better follow them! Paul Freeman
  • Sue I’m very sorry to hear about Jim. We had a nice visit when he was at our office for Mohs surgery recently. We are very busy so I don’t think I can get away. Please know I have you in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Myra Myra
