Obituary
Janie Marie Aleshire, lovingly known as Marie, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, in Burnet, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on December 13, 1937, in Cullum, Alabama, Marie lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and church.
Marie found joy in her work at a local bank, where she delighted others with her southern cooking and warm spirit. Beyond her professional life, she was an avid quilter, creating beautiful quilts that she shared with her family. Each quilt, crafted with care and affection, was a tangible expression of her love, providing comfort and warmth to those lucky enough to receive them. She said they could feel her loving arms around them when they used them.
A woman of deep faith, Marie was a devoted Christian who treasured her collection of over 50 Bibles and was a longtime member of both Woodhaven Freewill Baptist Church and then at 7 Creeks Church after moving to Burnet, Texas. Her life was a testament to her unwavering belief in Jesus and her dedication to living a life filled with grace and kindness.
Marie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Aleshire, Sr.; son, Paul Aleshire, Jr.; her parents, Chesley and Grace Raburn; and her six siblings.
She is survived by her loving children, Vonda (Buddy) Dyer and Pam (Kevin) Hagaman; her cherished grandchildren, Kirk (Allison) Dyer, Kim Dyer, Tom (Brianne) Hagaman, Cryssie Hagaman, Carrie (R.J.) Edwards, Amanda (Phil) Beesley, Kayla Aleshire, Justin (Karen) Aleshire, and Lance (Andrea) Aleshire; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kacey, Leo, Ella, Wesley, Hailey, Gavin, Easton, Quinn, Sloan, Ainslee, Brady, Benjamin, Theodore, Charlotte, and Henry. She is also survived by her dear daughter-in-law, Brenda Aleshire, alongside numerous friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Family and friends are invited to honor Marie's memory during the visitation services on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 12:00 PM.
Marie leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, a life well-lived, and a family blessed by her presence. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her generous spirit, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her.
Contributions in her memory may be made to 7 Creeks Church, as they are in the process of constructing their first building, a project she was very passionate about.
