Obituary
Karen Marie Blankenship, born on November 6, 1955, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 70.
Karen was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for ceramics, spending countless hours crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her creative spirit. Her love for Trans Ams was well-known, and she delighted in attending car shows, where she would admire classic automobiles and share her enthusiasm with fellow car enthusiasts.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Sandra Neil, her brother Ricky Neil, and her beloved husband Julian Blankenship, Karen leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted partner, Ron Adamus, and her three children: Derrick (Tricia) Blankenship, Craig (Sarah) Blankenship, and Jessica Blankenship (Mickey). As a grandmother, she was adored by her grandchildren—Rylee, Kaylee, Elaina, Alex, Scott, Kaleb, and Layla—who will always remember her warmth and affection.
Karen is also survived by her sister, Patricia Neil, and her sister by choice, Marlene Swaidan. Her family and friends will forever hold Karen in their hearts, remembering her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for those she held dear.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in support of dementia care and research.
