Obituary
June Cody, born on June 8, 1946, in Senghenydd, Wales, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at the age of 79. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
June lived a life full of love and laughter. Her heart was as vast as her interests, which included hunting, spending cherished moments with her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening where she reigned as the mulching queen of her hometown, and dancing with joy. She possessed an infectious sense of humor and always put others before herself. June's love for holidays, particularly Christmas and Halloween, was evident in her elaborate decorations and costumes. She was a devoted fan of Elvis, enjoyed peaceful moments by the fire up north, loved fishing, and found delight in shopping trips.
Her marriage to William Cody was a testament to enduring love and partnership, inspiring all who knew them. Together, they raised a family that brought them immense pride and happiness.
June is preceded in death by her parents, Justin and Charlotte Dawson. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with her surviving family: her devoted husband, William Cody; her children, Richard (Kellie) Cody, Lanette Cody, Bryan (Dana) Cody, Yvonne Cody, and Crystal (Travis) Brickner; her treasured grandchildren, Tory, Lacey, Wes, Cheyanne, Chantell, Larissa, Dylan, Alexis, Breanna, and Makayla; and her adored great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kamiyla, River, Axle, Patience, Avery, Mallory, and Everlee. She is also survived by her brother, Dave Dawson, and sister, Frances Dobos.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate June's life during the visitation on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place at Michigan Memorial Park.
