Obituary

Margaret Mary Carswell, aged 83, passed away on March 6, 2026, in Clio, Michigan. Born on June 30, 1942, in Dearborn, Michigan, Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Margaret was known for her incredible work ethic and dedication to those she loved. A true hard worker, she found joy in improving her home and creating a warm, inviting space for family gatherings. Her home was always filled with laughter and the love of her cherished grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.

In her leisure time, Margaret enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often spending her afternoons watching the Game Show Network, where she delighted in trying to answer the questions along with the contestants. She also loved watching Football, especially the Detroit Lions.

Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Diane Walzak; her great-granddaughter, Adilyn Gray; and her parents, Peter and Charlotte Zager.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry on her legacy of love and resilience: her daughters Renee Collins (Doug) and Cheryl Walzak (Darla Kutcher); her grandchildren Angela Riley (Joe), Donald Gray (Ben), Shelly Gray (Johnny), Kimberly Adkins (Josh), and Austin Gray (Breanna); five precious great-grandchildren; and her dear brother Lawrence Zaqer (Naomi).

Margaret’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Condolences

  • I am going to miss you so much grandma. Words can't express the love I had for you. I will cherish all the memories we made, especially these last few weeks. Watching old movies and the game show network, stuffing our faces with food, and long talks with lots of crying and laughing. Growing up I always loved going to grandma's house. She worked so hard, but always took time to spend with us grandkids. She would take us to the movies, where she would fall asleep every time. When us kids stayed the night and she fell asleep, we would get a feather and tickle her nose. No matter how wore out she was, she always made sure we happy and having fun. Grandma, you are no longer in pain or suffering. I'm so grateful for every moment I had with you and will cherish them forever. I love you and will miss you so much ❤️ Angie Reilly
