Obituary

Roy N. DePaoli, of Allen Park, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025. He was born on January 5, 1933 to Giuseppe and Alba DePaoli. At age 23, Roy was drafted by the United States Army. Upon completion of his service to our country, he began his 47 year career at Ford Motor Company as a tool and die maker, and served the last 27 years as an elected Union Representative. In 1961, he met the love of his life, Nancy Sue Nickols. On April 22, 1961, they began their life together.

Roy loved all things sports. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball, and bowling with Nancy and their friends in several leagues.
Most of all, Roy loved his family. He was a devoted husband and a very proud father and grandfather. He is so very loved and will be dearly missed.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Nancy, his children Keith (Stephanie), Tina, and Mark (Valarie), grandchildren, Jack, Marco, Mya, and Kala, and his sister Eva Petterle. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary (Jay) Ecsedi, and several close friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, April 3rd from 10:30am - 1:30pm. A funeral service will follow.

Memorial contributions can be made to Angela Hospice, Livonia.

To my Cousins Nancy, Keith, Tina, Mark. I just happen to look at local cemeteries to see if I knew anyone and stumbled across this for Roy. I am so so sorry for your loss and for our extended family. I thought of him as just as much a cousin to me as Nancy. I know how you all feel. I lost my mom March 2024 and Dad Aug 2024.
