GOURLAY, Douglas J., age 90, of Southgate, November 13, 2023. Beloved husband of Rose Gourlay. Loving father of Douglas (Cindy) Gourlay. Dearest uncle of Margaret (Steven) Harris, Gayle Talbot, Julie (Robert) Pohl, Mary (Andrew) Cunningham, and Janet (Anthony) Harrison. He is survived by his sister-in-law Barbara Vivoda. He is preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Grace Gourlay. Douglas is retired from Services to Enhance Potential (STEP) in 2000 as the Facility Director. Being a bilateral amputee, Doug was a relentless advocate for the disabled who loved family, friends, music, sports, good scotch and fine cigars. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arc Downriver. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
