Obituary

Eleanor Gizella Gottschalk, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away on March 16, 2026, in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on November 10, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, she lived a full life of 85 years, cherishing every moment with her family and friends.

Eleanor was a woman of warmth and creativity, finding joy in arts and crafts, which she lovingly shared with those around her. Her home was often filled with the laughter and love of her family, whom she adored deeply.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, David L. Gottschalk. Eleanor's legacy continues through her children: Brian Gottschalk, Tracy (Larry) Ostrowski, and Susan (John) Wery. She was a proud grandmother to Brian (Hillary), David (Agata), Ellen (Danny), Andrew (Rachel), Brandon (Hailey), Emily (Tim), Andrew, Camille, Elisabeth, and Rebecca. Her great-grandchildren, Sean, Ilona, Rachel, Ava, Addison, Waylon, Chloe, and Sophia, brought her immense joy, as did her great-great-grandchild, Robin.

Eleanor will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her gentle spirit, and her creative touch that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends, who will carry her love and warmth in their hearts forever.

Condolences

  • Condolences to Eleanors family and friends. She was a long standing member of the American Hungarian Reformed Church in Allen Park and will be forever remembered for her work in the Martha Circle, creating lovely crafts for prizes at the card parties and helping to cook for the indoor Garage sales. Eleanor was a lovely friend and will be greatly missed. Susan Nesbitt
