Obituary
Marlene Marie Gooch, born on May 6, 1936, in Leamington, Ontario, passed away September 26, 2026 in Chelsea, Michigan. She was a woman of great warmth and joy, known for her love of family and her dedication to their happiness.
Marlene possessed a beautiful voice and found joy in singing with the choir. She was an avid crafter, creating heartfelt pieces that reflected her vibrant spirit. In her younger years, she enjoyed long walks, always valuing her health and well-being. Her appreciation for the arts drew her to the theatre, where she delighted in every performance. Marlene was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, which she shared generously with those around her, making every gathering brighter and more joyful.
Her life was a testament to her devotion to her family, whom she cherished deeply. Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Gooch, her son, George Gooch Jr., her grandson, Nathan, her parents, Ivan and Leola Setterington, and her brother, Bob.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children, Leeann Baustert, Kevin (Peggy) Gooch, and Tracey (Steve) Gersch, and her daughter-in-law, Bridget Gooch. Her memory will forever be held dear by her grandchildren, Kelly Gooch, Matthew Baustert, Eddie (Karen) Baustert, Nick (Andrea) Gooch, and Tiffany (Mike) Brieschke, as well as her great-grandchildren, Leona, Ivy, Issac, Owen, Eli, Archer, Nolan, Lily, Dallas, and Nathan Jr. Marlene's boundless love also touched her great-great-grandchild, DJ.
Her family and friends will forever remember Marlene's laughter, kindness, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
