Michael Lee Gulliver, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in Suttons Bay, Michigan, at the age of 67. Born on March 22, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, Michael lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and passions.
Michael was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting, cherishing the tranquility and adventure of the great outdoors. His passion for working on cars was well-known, and he had a particular fondness for classic automobiles that captured the elegance of a bygone era. In addition to his mechanical pursuits, Michael was also fascinated by computers and delighted in exploring the ever-evolving world of technology.
Above all, Michael loved his family deeply. He was a devoted father to his children, Tanya (Jeffery Pick) Gulliver, Tara (David) Stinson, and Justin Schettler. His grandchildren, Joshua Gulliver, Ryan Schoonover, Brandon Schoonover, Annabella Stinson, Ily Stinson, D.J. Stinson, Mason Stinson, Darek Pick, Benjamin Pick, Katelyn Pick, Gage Schettler, Xavier Schettler and great-grandchild Willow Pick, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, brought immense joy to his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Michael is fondly remembered for his generous spirit and open heart. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked, embodying kindness and selflessness in all his interactions. His home was always open to friends and family, reflecting his welcoming nature and boundless hospitality.
A cherished memory shared by his daughter Tanya perfectly encapsulates Michael's humor and resilience: while working on the roof one day, he sustained second and third-degree burns on his backside from the scorching shingles—a story that, despite the discomfort, brought laughter and warmth to all who heard it.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anna Sue and Glenn Gulliver, and his brothers, David and Richard Gulliver, Michael leaves behind his loving brother Jeffery Gulliver, who shared many cherished memories over the years.
Michael's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life.
