Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Junior Gevedon. He was born February 18, 1951 in Wolf County, Kentucky and passed on July 28, 2026 in Wyandotte, Michigan surrounded by his loving family.
Walter retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of committed service. Known for his skills as a "jack of all trades," he had a passion for working on cars, especially classic models. He was a man of remarkable strength, unwavering integrity, and an incredible work ethic. He spent his life faithfully providing for and loving his family, leading not only through his words but through his example. His resilience, selflessness, and steadfast character have left a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Walter's greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to his life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alvenia Gevedon, and his daughter, Angela Copus. His cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Maxfield) Copus Kraus and Ashley Hubbard, along with his great-grandchildren, Liam Copus and William Hubbard, will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
He is also survived by his siblings, Franky Gevedon, Donald (Wanda) Childers, Julia (John) Palmer, and Mike Gevedon, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Bertell Childers and Walter Gevedon, his siblings Brenda Steely, Joseph Gevedon, William Gevedon, and James Gevedon, his grandparents Luna and Bernie Buchanan, and his uncle Hargis Buchanan.
While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord, healed and at perfect peace. Though we mourn his absence, we also rejoice in the promise of eternal life and find peace in knowing that this goodbye is only temporary.

We are so thakful for the life you lived, the sacrifices you made, and the love you gave so freely. Your legacy will continue through the family you loved so deeply. You will be profoundly missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
