Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Malea Hill, affectionately known as Moo Moo, who passed away on August 10, 2026, at the young age of 20. Born on September 20, 2005, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Malea graced our lives with her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter until her final days in Nashville, Tennessee.

Malea was a young woman whose heart overflowed with love and joy. Her love for music and Jesus was a testament to her beautiful soul, and she cherished every moment spent enjoying wings and sushi. Malea shared a special bond with her Uncle Steven, with whom she enjoyed the unique adventure of dumpster diving. Her passion for creating her own perfumes and indulging in the scents of Bath and Body Works was a reflection of her desire to spread beauty and delight wherever she went.

The beach was Malea's sanctuary, particularly the sun-kissed shores of Florida, where she found peace and happiness. Her hilarious personality brought smiles and laughter to all who knew her, and her close relationship with her mom, Danielle Fricke, was a testament to the deep connections she formed with those she loved. Family was the cornerstone of Malea's life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Malea is preceded in death by her soulmate, Draiven Beavers; her uncle, Timothy; and her maternal grandmother, Cathy. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory dear: her mother, Danielle Fricke (Julius Williams); her father, Shane Hill; her mother-in-law, Meagan Guthrie (James Guthrie); her siblings, Cierra (Ryan), Shane Jr., Isaac, Lainey, James, Lizzy, and Jada; her aunts and uncles, Tyler, Michelle (Tony), Kelly (Neil), Stacey, Steven, and Great Aunt Sandra; her cousins, Michael, Breanna, Shawn, Vanessa, Stella, Rebecca, Brandon, and Ali; her only and very special nephew, Julian; her maternal grandfather, Gary; and her paternal grandparents, Kathy and Tim; her first donor, Shakur; and his grandmother, Carrie, who she shared a special bond with and who became like a grandmother figure to Malea.

Malea's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her very loving donor families, as well as the U of M and Vanderbilt transplant teams and her nurses, for their unwavering dedication and care.
Though Malea's time with us was far too brief, her legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

  • IT IS WITH TEARS RUNNING DOWN MY CHEEKS TODAY THAT "PAPA GARY" TRIES TO REWRITE A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO HIS "TINA BELLE" AS THE 1ST ONE WAS LOST IN THE CYBER WORLD LAST NIGHT. I WISH TO POST A FAVORITE POEM OF YOURS WHICH WAS PRINTED ON THE BACKS OF THE "PINK" SHIRTS WE WORE ON THE DAY WE LAID YOU TO REST....."LET ME BE PATIENT, LET ME BE KIND; MAKE ME UNSELFISH WITHOUT BEING BLIND; THOUGH I MAY SUFFER, I'LL ENVY IT NOT AND ENDURE WHAT IS COMING, 'CAUSE HE'S ALL THAT I'VE GOT".....NOW, I WILL POST ONE VERSE & ONE CHORUS FROM A VERY FAVORITE ELEGY OF MINE BY STEPHEN FOSTER IN 1856, KNOWN AS "GENTLE ANNIE". (WITH RESPECT TO "GENTLE ANNIE" , I WILL USE, "MY MALEA"). "THOU WILT COME NO MORE MY MALEA, LIKE A FLOWER THY SPIRIT DID DEPART; THOU ART GONE, ALAS! LIKE THE MANY THAT HAVE BLOOMED IN THE SUMMER OF MY HEART"....."SHALL WE NEVER MORE BEHOLD THEE; NEVER HEAR THY WINNING VOICE AGAIN, WHEN THE SPRING TIME COMES, MY MALEA, WHEN THE WILDFLOWERS ARE SCATTERED O'ER THE PLAIN"?... I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN AS I POURED MYSELF OUT IN THE EARLIER "LOST" POST BUT I WISH TO EXPRESS MY JOY OVER FINDING A "SPOT" IN THE GRASS WHEN I PASS, THAT IS ONLY JUST A FEW STEPS AWAY, "CLOSE TO YOU". WE HAD SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER!! WHEN I SEE SOME OF THE LITTLE GIFTS YOU GAVE ME OR THE STREAMERS IN THE GARAGE FROM ONE OF THE BICYCLES I ONCE BOUGHT YOU, IT BREAKS MY HEART. I EVEN SAVED THE WATER BOTTLES IN YOUR LITTLE BASKET WHEN YOU WERE ONLY 9 YEARS OLD AS "KEEPSAKES", JUST IN CASE I LOST YOU. EVERY DAY I STILL SEE THE HEAVY BLACK MARKER NOTES & PICS YOU LEFT ON MY ROUGH-WOOD STEPS FROM MARCH 2011. I WILL COVER THEM ONE DAY BUT NEVER REMOVE THEM AS I WATCHED YOU SKETCH THEM OUT BACK THEN. AFTERWARD, I MADE A NOTE OF US THERE @ THAT TIME & PLACE THAT STILL REMAINS TODAY, ALONG WITH "GRAFFITI" FROM THE OTHER KIDS OVER THE YEARS. JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO, I SENT YOU A PIC OF A NOTE I FOUND FROM A FEW YEARS BACK; "I LOVE YOU, PAPA---MALEA". EVEN THE "FRIDGE MAGNET" YOU BOUGHT ME FROM "FRANKENMUTH" WITH MY NAME ON IT NOT LONG AGO IS ENOUGH TO BREAK MY HEART. JUST RECENTLY, I ASKED YOU WHAT KIND OF CAR YOU MIGHT WANT SOME DAY AS YOU ALREADY HAD A "PERMIT". YOU ANSWERED, "A PINK CADILLAC"!!! WELL HONEY, THE NEXT BEST THING WE COULD DO FOR YOU WAS THE BEAUTIFUL ,"PINK-METALLIC CASKET" AND A "HELICOPTER DROP" OF HUNDREDS OF BEAUTIFUL "RED ROSE PETALS" PLUS A RELEASE OF DOZENS OF, "BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES" WHICH FILLED THE SUMMER AIR WITH PEACE & JOY, PARTICULARLY SINCE HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN THE FORECAST THAT DAY.....AUGUST 16, 2026. YET, THE SUN MANAGED TO "PEEK THROUGH" OVER THE ENTIRE CEREMONY AS, "NOT A DROP OF WATER FELL FROM THE SKIES, RATHER PLENTY OF IT FELL FROM OUR EYES".....LASTLY, I THINK THERE WAS AN, "ANGEL FOLLOWING AN ANGEL", OR SO TO SPEAK. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER YOUR DEPARTURE, "DOLLY PARTON" ALSO PASSED AWAY IN YOUR VERY SAME HOSPITAL DOWN THERE IN "NASHVILLE". I REMEMBER A LARGE "MURAL" OF HER ON A HALLWAY WALL WHEN VISITING WITH YOU IN JUNE. NOW I KNOW WHY. "YOU WERE, OR RATHER, "ARE" IN GOOD COMPANY"!! WELL, "LIFE GOES ON" & AS WE PASS THE DAYS AWAY, WE MUST WAIT UNTIL THE GOOD LORD TAKES US HOME TO BE TOGETHER AGAIN IN HEAVEN WHERE THERE ARE NO MORE TEARS OR PAIN OR SUFFERING OR SORROW, I LOOK SOOO FORWARD TO THAT TIME, GOD WILLING. ALL IN THE PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS, AMEN & AMEN. MY LOVE FOREVERMORE, "PAPA GARY". Gary Fricke
