HAMMOND, Mildred L., age 88, of Belleville, December 04, 2016 at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti. She was born in Saline, Michigan. Mildred worked as a cafeteria food service worker 14.5 years for Van Buren School District. She attended Evangel Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan. Mrs. Hammond joined her husband of 55 years with interment at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Baptist Church, 16994 Telegraph, Taylor, Michigan 48180. She most would be known for her kind spirit and devotion to her family, loving mother of 5 children Larry (Kathy) Hammond, Dennis (Karen) Hammond, Candy (Mark) Fromer, Mark (Jane) Hammond and Mary Ann (Mark) Brett. Guests were always welcomed in her home with pleasant hospitality and delicious home cooking. Her hobbies included camping, cooking, baking, gardening, playing piano and home making. By her life she would most like you to share in the knowledge of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her favorite Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 5:17 “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away behold, all things have become new,” was instrumental in leading her to Faith in Christ for eternal salvation.
