Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Edward Hengy, who entered eternal rest on May 6, 2026, at the age of 86, in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Born on April 5, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Robert was a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Robert was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and bowler, relishing the opportunity to spend time outdoors and enjoy the company of his family. His love for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings was well known, as was his fondness for traveling "up north," where he created many treasured memories with his loved ones.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Hengy, and his parents, Alphonsus and Gladys Hengy, Robert's legacy continues through his surviving family. He leaves behind his devoted children, Connie (Randy) Tunison, David (Sharon) Hengy, and Scott Hengy. Robert was a proud grandfather to David, Paul, Steve (Angeli), Derek (Dawn), Nathan (Brittany), Jordan, River, Brooke (Kyle), Michael (Adrienne), and Lauren. He was blessed with 18 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his memory and spirit.
Robert's life was a testament to the power of love and family, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His warmth, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
