Obituary

Cindy Ann Jarzynka, age 78, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Riverview, Michigan. Born on September 5, 1947, in Monroe, Michigan, Cindy was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Her life was a tapestry woven with the love of family and the joy found in simple pleasures. Cindy had a creative spirit and enjoyed ceramics and quilting. Her mind was sharp and engaged; she delighted in solving sudoku puzzles and losing herself in the pages of a good book. She had a knack for collecting, amassing a charming assortment of purses, gnomes, and knick-knacks that each told a story of their own.

In later years, Cindy enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Jim, to Africa, Europe, and Australia; annual trips to Florida to escape the Michigan winter; spending summers at their lake house, highlighted by Dad’s daily pontoon rides that brought her peace and happiness; and keeping up with her grandchildren’s activities.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Zeno and Irene Ochs. Left to treasure her memory are her devoted husband, Jim Jarzynka; her children, Brian (Tina) Jarzynka, Jennifer (Jason) Leffel, and Scott (Lisa) Jarzynka; and her grandchildren, Lia, Lauren, James, Amelia, and Eva, who were the pride and joy of her life. Cindy is also survived by her siblings, Shirley and Butch, whose bonds were unbreakable. Her beloved shih tzus Cocoa, Sammie, and Rusty, also brought her endless companionship and comfort.

Cindy’s life was further enriched by the love of her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom will miss her warm presence and kind heart. Her legacy is one of love, creativity, and the enduring power of family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Copper Nail in Grass Lake, Michigan.

The family kindly asks that guests honor Cindy’s joyful spirit by wearing bright, happy colors to the visitation and church service.

Condolences
