Obituary

Wyman Leland Jacobs, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 90. Born on June 28, 1935, in Smithland, Kentucky, Wyman lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.

Wyman was a proud alumnus of Fordson High School, where he excelled in sports including football, track and swimming. He set the state and national records in the 4 x 400 relay in swimming. His athletic prowess earned him an induction into the Fordson High School Varsity Alumni Club in 2025, a testament to his enduring legacy in the school's history. He continued to share his passion for sports by actively supporting his children's athletic endeavors as they grew up.

After serving honorably in the United States Army, Wyman embarked on a distinguished career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked diligently for 36 years as a program director before retiring.

In retirement, Wyman embraced life with enthusiasm, traveling to destinations such as Arizona, Cancun, Alaska, and California. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, singing, and dancing with his beloved sister Wanda. A lover of blues and country music, Wyman also had a deep appreciation for history, often immersing himself in its rich narratives. He was known for his sense of humor, kind and genuine nature, and an amazing father.

Wyman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 20 years, Nancy Jean Jacobs; his son, Jason Robert Jacobs; his sister, Wanda Mae Petish; and his parents, Marvin and Zolene Jacobs. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children: Christina Stevenson, Jake (Melissa) Jacobs, WyAnn (Adam) Outland, Justine (Chris) Fraczek, and Justin Jacobs. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Angela, Brent, Jacob, Ashlyn, Shane, Olivia, Tyler, Emma, Nash, Liam, Gavin, and Lola; and three great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, with an Honor Guard Service at 5:30 p.m. and a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park, with the date and time to be determined.
