Norris Steven Krastes, affectionately known as Butch, passed away on September 3, 2025, in his hometown of Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 83. Born on September 13, 1941, in Wyandotte, Norris lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and friends.
Norris retired as a dispatcher for operating engineers Local 324 in the construction business, where he was known for his hard work and commitment.
In his retirement, Norris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid golf player, he cherished his time on the greens with his retiree golf league. He also enjoyed the thrill of a good poker game. Wednesdays were special to Norris, as they meant breakfast gatherings with a close-knit group of friends, a tradition that lasted for years and filled his life with laughter and companionship.
Above all, Norris treasured his family. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandson Jason and great-grandsons Jaysn and Jacob, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His legacy of love and kindness lives on through his surviving children, Vicky (Steve) Hanifl, Kenn (Terri) Rowe, and Debra Rowe; his grandchildren, Jason (Christine Coch) Krastes, Darries, Kayla, Justin, and Michael; and his great-grandchildren, Jaysn and Jacob Krastes, and Stella.
Norris was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Krastes, and his daughter, Shelly Krastes. Though they are no longer with us, their spirits remain intertwined with his, guiding and comforting those left behind.
A visitation will be held at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. A celebration of life luncheon will take place after the service, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life well lived.
