Obituary

Phyllis Marie Kolpacke, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on December 27, 1938, in Marquette, Nebraska, Phyllis lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Leonard Kolpacke, with whom she shared countless summers traveling to Petoskey, Michigan. Together, they created a lifetime of joyful moments and adventures. In November, Phyllis would return to Petoskey with her dear friend Pat, continuing her love for travel and friendship.

Phyllis was a beloved mother to Kriss McLaughlin and a proud grandmother to Brianna and Connor. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy into her life. Known for her vibrant personality, Phyllis had a wonderful sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her. She cherished her friendships with Pat, Ann, Mary, Gary, Janice, and Steve, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Her home was a sanctuary filled with lush green plants, reflecting her nurturing spirit and love for nature. As a member of the Red Hat Society, Phyllis brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Rasmussen. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends, who were fortunate to experience her kindness and zest for life.

In honoring her life, let us remember Phyllis as a fun-loving soul whose cheerful presence brightened the lives of everyone she met. May her laughter echo in our hearts and her love continue to inspire us all.
