Obituary

Garry Victor Long, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 75. Born on July 4, 1950, in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Garry lived a life full of passion and dedication.

A proud Mason, Garry embraced the values of brotherhood and community throughout his life. He found joy and tranquility in the great outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and enjoying the beauty of nature "up-north." His appreciation for the simple pleasures of life was palpable, and he was known for his hardworking nature.

Garry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Kenneth and Hazel Long, his brother, Kenneth Larry Long (Pam), and his sister, Deborah Vallimont (Patrick). He leaves behind his devoted wife, Carolyn Long; his loving children, Jason Victor Long (Tracey) and Amy Krupkin (Adam); and his adored grandchildren, Conor Owen Long, Ava Pauline Krupkin, and Evan Victor Krupkin.

Garry's legacy will be carried on through the cherished memories shared by his family and friends. His spirit and love for life will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Condolences

  • It was my pleasure knowing you, through Carol. A very nice guy....enjoyable, at best. I enjoyed going to MGM with you and Carol....fun! Now, you can rest without pain. You will be missed. Condolences to the entire family. Rosemarie Simonutti
  • Sharing the sadness of the loss of our brother-in-law Garry, a most affable and pleasant presence with whom we enjoyed many happy times, and that we personally admired for his unassuming attitude and solid devotion to his family and work. Persons with those qualities are very special, and he will be sorely missed by our family and by all who had the fortune of meeting him. Betty & Jorge Pardo
