Obituary

Carole Lee Maiden, born on May 2, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Naples, Florida, at the age of 84.

Carole was a devoted member of St Roch Catholic Church in Flat Rock, as well as St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples, where she found solace and community. Her passion for life was evident in her dedication as an instructor for senior fitness classes, where she inspired many with her energy and enthusiasm. She also enjoyed participating in a local dance club, where she shared her love for dance with friends.

Carole was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Maiden, and her parents, William and Albertine Rivard. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Fletcher.

She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her children, Dirk (Teresa) Ruszkowski, Karrie (Ivan) Thomas, Randall (the late Diane) Ruszkowski, and Stacey (Chet) Underwood; her step-children, Brenda and Lori. Carole was a proud grandmother to Kyle Jacob, Steven, Tiffany, Robert, Ryan, Rebecca, Randy Jr., Nicole, Andrew, Christopher, and Tyler, along with Lori's children, Brooke and Stevie, and a great-grandmother to Isabella, Lilianna, Sophia, Gabriella, Oliver, and Lucia.

Carole is also survived by her siblings, Roger Rivard, Rochelle Mason, and Terrance Rivard, who will remember her fondly.

Carole's warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who take comfort in the many joyful memories they shared with her.
