Obituary
Charlotte Marie Modelski, born on March 25, 1950, in Mohawk, West Virginia, passed away on June 12, 2025, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 75.
Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who cherished her family above all else. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family that continues to honor their legacy. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dustin and daughter Carolyn.
She is survived by her loving children: Eddie (Donna) Rakes, Michael (Tonia) Modelski, Robin (Tim) Hammon, and Jaydee (Amy Helm) Modelski. Her memory will also be cherished by her 13 grandchildren: Tony (Rachel), Sabrina, Jousseline, Eddie, Jr. (Paije), Jaydee, Dustin, Breona, Mikey, Jacob, Kaylee, Violet, Brian, and Mollyann, as well as her 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Parker, and brother, Timothy Rakes. Her best friend, Sandy Tchorzynski, and many other family members and friends will miss her dearly. Charlotte had a special fondness for Dottie, Robin's dog, who brought her much joy.
Charlotte was the daughter of the late Edward and Violet Rakes and sister to Deborah Gillespie, who preceded her in death.
Throughout her life, Charlotte worked in various roles, with her last position being a medical assistant. She found great joy in singing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by entombment at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.
