Obituary

Leonard Anthony Moscynski, a lifelong resident of Wyandotte, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on November 6, 1940, in Wyandotte, Leonard spent his entire life in the community he loved so dearly.

Leonard was a man of simple pleasures and profound passions. He found joy in the gentle hum of nature, particularly in the vibrant presence of hummingbirds that frequented his garden. His love for the outdoors extended to his cherished time spent rowing with the Wyandotte Boat Club, where he found both solace and camaraderie on and off the water as a volunteer.

A devoted fan of Notre Dame, Leonard's enthusiasm for the team was matched only by his dedication to his family. He was a loving husband to Evelyn Moscynski, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family rooted in love and mutual respect.

Leonard is survived by his beloved wife Evelyn; his children, Paul Moscynski, Pamela Moscynski-Bloomfield, and Karen (William) Allen; and his grandchildren, Zachary Moscynski, Meredith (Byron) Keeler, Jacob Moscynski, Joseph Moscynski, Carly Allen, and Lucas Allen. He also leaves behind his sister, Irene (Andrew) Tyszka, who will miss him dearly.

Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irene Moscynski, and his sister Christina, Leonard's legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the memories they created together.

In his quiet way, Leonard touched the lives of those around him, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
