Obituary

Daniel Paul Patrick, a cherished son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away  on July 24, 2026, in Monroe, Michigan. Born on March 7, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Daniel was 70 years old at the time of his passing.

Daniel was a man whose presence could light up any room. Known for his unwavering friendliness, he never met a stranger and was a true ray of sunshine to all who knew him. Those who had the pleasure of conversing with Daniel knew that he never stopped talking, always eager to share a story or lend an ear.

He had a deep passion for old westerns and rock and roll music, which he enjoyed throughout his life. A devout Catholic, Daniel's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his actions and interactions with others. He was committed to volunteering and helping those in need, reflecting his generous spirit and kind heart.

Daniel is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert and Mary Patrick; his son, David Paul Mattingly; his brother, Robert Patrick; his grandson, David Paul Mattingly Jr.; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Patrick.

He is survived by his son, Samuel Mattingly; granddaughter, Miranda Dotson, and her husband, Kyle; and great-granddaughter, Eva Dotson. Daniel also leaves behind his brother, John Patrick, along with cherished nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in the joy Daniel brought to so many lives and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. His memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved him.
