Obituary
Elvin Earl Reed, Sr., of Taylor, Michigan, passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on January 8, 1931, in Clothier, West Virginia, Elvin lived a full and vibrant life, deeply rooted in his love for family and the simple joys of nature and community.
Elvin was the cherished husband of the late Audrey Nell Reed, with whom he shared 72 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. He is remembered fondly by those who survive him: his loving children, Beverly (the late Terrance White) and Elvin Jr. (Mary). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Sikorski, Mary Beth (Brian) Winsjansen, and Martin (Molly) Reed, each of whom brought immense joy to his later years.
Elvin's great-grandchildren, Reed Sikorski, Jacob Sikorski, Nickolas Sikorski, and James Winsjansen, were a constant source of delight, as was his great-great-grandchild, Ariella Rose. He took great pleasure in playing with them, passing down his wisdom and love for life.
A man of simple pleasures, Elvin found joy in hunting, fishing, and projects around the hoouse. He took pride in maintaining a flawlessly cut lawn and perfectly polished car, reflecting his meticulous nature. As a devoted member of Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor, Elvin found strength and solace in his faith and fellowship.
Elvin is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey, his grandson, Matthew White, his sisters, Betty Ellis and Peggy Hauck, and his parents, Floyd and Gladys Reed. He leaves behind his dear sister, Ermil Hannah, and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations in Elvin's memory may be made to Beacon Baptist Church.
