Jo Alice Rowe, born on April 3, 1953, in North Carolina, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Detroit at the age of 72. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and relationship with God.
Jo Alice devoted much of her life to her faith and community, serving as a Deacon Emeritas at Christ Family Church in Brownstown. Her dedication to her church and its members was unwavering, and she will be fondly remembered for her compassionate spirit and gentle guidance.
She held a wide array of interests that brought joy to herself and those around her. Jo Alice was a talented crocheter and painter, finding beauty in the delicate art of yarn and canvas. She loved to travel, particularly to Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Higgins Lake, where she found peace and inspiration. A true enthusiast of happiness and wonder, Jo Alice cherished her visits to Disney World, letting her inner child relish in its magic. Her love for ice cream was well-known among family and friends, and she delighted in sharing this simple pleasure with loved ones.
Jo Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Rowe, and her parents, Edward and Rose Binkowski. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth carried on by her children, Donovan (Catherine) Rowe and Allison (Steven) Shank. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Paris, Josiah, Elijah, Isaiah, Elliah, Ethan, Evan, and Emma, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Her family extended beyond her immediate kin, including her cherished sister Tracy (Dave) Pinkowski, and nieces and nephews Alexia (Joe) Mathews, Tyler (Karli) Pinkowski, and Britta Pinkowski. Jo Alice also took immense joy in her great nieces and nephews, Griffin, Lilia, and Lennon, who brought an extra sparkle to her days.
Jo Alice Rowe's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the quiet joys found in everyday moments. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
