Obituary

Sandra Cicotte Reckling, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Brownstown, Michigan, at the age of 84. Born on May 10, 1941, Sandra lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished relationships.

Sandra dedicated many years of her professional life to serving as a city clerk for Brownstown Township.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sandra’s greatest joy came from her family. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren Sara and Alex, who affectionately called her “Mimmi”. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on their lives.

Sandra was a cherished member of “The Wonder Gals”, a group of friends from Our Lady of Lourdes in River Rouge. Their bond endured for over 70 years, and they gathered motherly to share laughter and camaraderie. These friendships were a source of immense joy and support throughout her life.

Sandra is preceded in death by her daughter Janet Marie Vezelich, her husband Ed Reckling, and her brothers Lynn and Gary Cicotte. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son Paul Vezelich, daughter Jill (Russ) O’Neal, grandchildren Sara (Cody) Ratcliffe and Alex Maiale, and great-granddaughter Lila Grace. She is also survived by her brother Dennis Cicotte, dear friends Debbie and John Mullins, and her lifelong companions, The Wonder Gals.

Inurnment for Sandra will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Park. All are invited to meet at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home at 12:30 PM to process over to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandra’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by clicking button to the left. Sandra’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
