Obituary

David Lee Sharp, Sr., "Big Dave" born on February 2, 1947, in Sykesville, Pennsylvania, passed away  at the age of 78 on July 19, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

David's life was marked by a steadfast dedication to his family and a profound love for his wife, Rose, whom he met during a fateful blind date while serving in the military. Drafted into the Army, David dutifully served his country for two years, laying the foundation for a life characterized by commitment and service.

After his time in the military, David worked tirelessly to support his family, dedicating 38 years as an employee at General Motors until his well-earned retirement. His work ethic was driven by love for those closest to him, especially his cherished "Three Musketeers"—the close-knit trio of himself, his wife Rose, and their daughter Leslie.

David had a passion for life's simple pleasures. He was an avid reader and coin collector, and he found joy in watching classic Clint Eastwood westerns and gangster movies. Dining out was one of his favorite pastimes, where he relished good food and the company of loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Sharp; his son, David Lee Sharp, Jr.; and his siblings, Mary, James, and Betsy.

David is survived by his devoted wife of almost 57 years, Rose Sharp; his loving daughter, Leslie Sharp and his granddog, Brady B.  Also survived by his grandchildren, Amber (Joe) Bolla, David Sharp III, and Madison (Mason) Stormm. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jameson, and Alaric. David also leaves behind his brothers, Harry (Judy) Sharp and Charles Sharp.

David will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the unwavering love he shared with his family. His memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Condolences
