Obituary

Thomas Howard Stephen, aka Tom, born on April 3, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on January 13, 2026, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 80. A devoted family man and a cherished friend to many, Tom will be remembered for his gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Tom spent his career at Ford Motor Company, where he was known for his hard work and integrity until his retirement. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors. He was an avid gardener, tending to his vegetable garden with care and pride. Fishing brought him peace, and he relished the freedom of riding his motorcycle through the open roads. A man of few words, Tom was soft-spoken yet profoundly generous and kind. He was well-read and quite intelligent.

Above all, Tom was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Hazel, affectionately known as Cookie, his son David Stephen, and his loyal fur companion, Mickey. He is survived by his loving daughter, Patricia Stephen, and his cherished granddaughter, Caeley Nau. Tom leaves behind his siblings, Bill Stephen, Joanne Evans, John Stephen, and Janie (Pete) Batouche, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. A service to honor Thomas's life will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Michigan Memorial Park.
