
Obituary
Barbara Ann Vivoda, born on November 24, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 83.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She spent her life surrounded by the love of her family and the warmth of her passions. Barbara had a profound appreciation for the simple joys in life. She loved soaking up the sun, whether it be in her garden or enjoying the outdoors. Her creative spirit shone through her art and crafts, which she shared generously with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Vivoda, her parents, Stella and Frank Suess, her brothers, Frank Suess and Charles Suess, and her brother-in-law, Doug Gourlay.
Barbara leaves behind a rich legacy of love and memories. She is survived by her devoted children: Julie (Robert) Pohl, Mary (Andrew) Cunningham, and Janet (Anthony) Harrison. She cherished her grandchildren: Zachary (Amber) Postell, Joshua Postell, Megan Pohl, Sarah Pohl, Noah Harrison, and Benjamin Harrison, and was blessed with a great-grandson, Nyx Postell. Her sister, Rose Gourlay, and her nephew, Douglas (Cindy) Gourlay, also survive her.
Barbara's faithful companion, her furbaby Layla, brought her much joy and comfort.
Her warmth, kindness, and creativity will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
