Obituary

Robert Kay Vredenburg, born on September 28, 1940, in Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Belleville, Michigan, at the age of 85. 

Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. His dedication to his nation continued as a longtime member of the American Legion Post. He worked tirelessly as a truck driver for 60 years, a testament to his work ethic and commitment.

Family was central to Robert's life. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rita Vredenburg, and his children: Scott Michael (Christina) Dooley and Elizabeth Kay Stasienko, as well as his son-in-law Terry Osterman. Robert's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Jason, Kelly, Scott, Noah, Aaron, and Abigail, and his beloved great-grandchildren: Gryphon, Atlas, Remi, Alayna, and Tamara.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leah Katherine Osterman; his parents, Dale and Helen; his grandson, Andrew; his brothers, John, Clark, and James; his sister, Patricia; and his son-in-law, Michael Stasienko.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His steadfast dedication to his family, friends, and community leaves an enduring imprint on those fortunate enough to have shared in his remarkable journey through life.
