Obituary
Charles David Wells, born on November 25, 1941, in Jasper, Alabama, passed away on September 15, 2026, in Garden City, Michigan, at the age of 84.
Charles was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing pool, and he could often be found at garage sales, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. His passion for fixing up old cars was well-known among family and friends, and many sought his advice and expertise. He also cherished late-night card games with his “Pookie”, creating special memories filled with laughter, love, and good times together. A man of deep faith, Charles took great comfort and guidance from the Bible, which he read diligently and followed throughout his life.
He cherished the time spent camping and fishing with his family, creating memories that will be fondly remembered by those who were fortunate to share those moments with him.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Marie Wells; his brothers, Ray and Wayne Wells; and his brother-in-law, Richard Chirillo.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nancy Wells, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Charles was a devoted father to his children: Debra (Larry) Lawson, Cheryl Wells, and Angela (Mike) Richards. He was a proud grandfather to Adriane (Brad), Nathan (Kristina), Johnathan (Laura), Jeremy (Laura), Emiley (Richard), Michael (Alivia), and Charlee Jean. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Addison, Xander, Bella, Micah, Julia, Miles, Genevieve, Sienna, Theodore, Greyson, Dawson, Noah, Josie, Kinsley, Adalyn, Sawyer, Mikey, Avery, and Sophia.
In addition to his immediate family, Charles is survived by his siblings, Carolyn (the late Richard) Stone and Roger Wells; sister-in-law, Pam Wells; and other in-laws, Jim and Carol Casey, Berniece (the late Pat) Casey, Marlene (the late Frank) Chirillo, and Trudy (the late Bob) Kincaide. He will also be remembered fondly by many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Charles David Wells will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life. May he rest in peace.
