Obituary
Ruby Meda Wood, born on April 23, 1938, in Tazewell, Tennessee, peacefully departed this life on April 22, 2025, in Monroe, Michigan, just one day shy of her 87th birthday.
Ruby was a woman of profound faith and joy, who dedicated her life to her family, her community, and her spiritual calling. Her love for reading, singing, and gardening brought beauty and harmony to those around her. An ordained minister, Ruby found immense joy and fulfillment in her ministry, touching countless lives with her warmth and wisdom.
She cherished her travels with her beloved daughter, Debra, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Their adventures took them to the sunlit expanses of Arizona, the vibrant atmosphere of California, and the lively streets of Las Vegas. Among their many shared experiences, one of the most memorable was their visit to Hoover Dam, where Ruby's awe and amazement were so profound that Debra worried she might fall in. Another cherished memory was their trip to Mackinac Island, where an unexpected encounter with a large snake in their hotel room ensured a sleepless night, yet provided a story they would recount for years.
Ruby was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bobbie Wood, Sr., her cherished son, Bobbie Wood, Jr., her loving parents, Fred and Paralee Bolden, and her dear sister, Vadella Jason, and brother-in-law Ed Jason.
She leaves behind her daughter, Debra Wood, whose love and companionship were central to her life, and her fur grandbaby, Sammy, who brought her endless joy. Ruby is also survived by her siblings, Opal Bolden and Dan Bolden, her niece Linda (Garris) May and Tim (Randy) Manning who will carry forward the family legacy.
In remembering Ruby, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit and the memories she created will remain forever in our hearts.
